CARTERVILLE, Ill. (Heartland News) - The now-closed Walker’s Bluff Winery in rural Carterville has a new purpose.

According to Kingdom Collective Ministries, the Williamson County-based organization is leasing the 72-acre property and using the space for churches in the Heartland.

They said the property will be used as a retreat for churches with a shared goal of building relationships across denominational lines.

The lease includes the Legends restaurant, the pavilion, gazebo and lake area.

Brittney Dillon, with Kingdom Collective Ministries, said Sips and Sees”, coffee-and-tea gatherings, will be held on the property at the beginning of November, where church and ministry leaders can learn more and take a tour.

She also said a summer youth camp is in the works.
