BENTON, Ky. (Heartland News) - Kentucky State Police say an inmate faces new charges after he walked away from a work detail on Wednesday.

State Police officials say Jonathon S. Madole was on a work detail at the Marshall County Animal Shelter between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. on October 21. Troopers say Marshall County Detention Center authorities figured out that Madole walked away from the work detail. Investigators determined that Madole was picked up by a 17-year-old female after walking away.

KSP investigators say they found Madole and the juvenile in Murray, just before 1 p.m. later that day.

Madole was arrested and charged with escape and unlawful transaction with a minor. He was returned to the Marshall County Detention Center.

The juvenile was cited for complicity to escape and released.
