Cape Girardeau man charged with murder in wife’s shooting death
CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Police responded to a call about a man shooting and killing his wife on Friday, April 5 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Timothy Corrigan was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is in custody on a $750,000 cash only bond.
He was court for his initial arraignment by video at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8. He will appeared before Judge Frank Miller.
Corrigan is due back in court on April 22 at 2:30 p.m. for counsel.
It happened in the 1900 block of Perryville Road.
According to police, at 9 p.m. Timothy Corrigan, 69, called and said he shot his wife, Katheia Corrigan, 64. He told police he would cooperate and police were able to take him into custody.
“There was no direct threat of force against officers or other residents in this area and so we are thankful he was taken into custody peacefully,” Sgt. Joey Hann with the Cape Girardeau Police Department said.
Traffic between on Perryville Road was temporarily blocked Friday night, but opened back up around 10 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing and an autopsy has not been scheduled yet.
