Ransom appointed Judge to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has appointed a new judge for the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District.

Judge Robin Ransom from St. Louis, Mo. will succeed Judge Lisa Van Amburg who retired in August 2018.

The Judge had worked for the St. Louis County Public Defender’s Office, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the St. Louis County Family Court-Juvenile Division. She also was appointed Family Court Commissioner for the St. Louis County Family Court in 2002.

Judge Ransom was appointed to the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court in 2008. In 2018, she was elected the first female African-American as the presiding judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit.

She is a member of the Missouri State Foster Care and Adoption Board and the Juvenile Officer Performance Standards Work Group.
