Gala in Cape Girardeau supports LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Heartland News) - Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri hosted a gala in Cape Girardeau, supporting the LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home.

The 2026 LifeHouse Gala took place at the Drury Plaza Hotel Conference Center on Saturday night, November 7.

The event’s purpose was to raise money for its LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home, providing resources to pregnant women experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness. Organizers say the services are provided at no cost, and women of any faith are welcome.

The gala’s theme was “Stetsons & Stilettos.” The event featured dinner, live and online auctions, raffles and entertainment by the Nash Country Band.

Missouri Department of Social Services Director Jessica Bax was the keynote speaker.
