New businesses opening up in downtown Cape

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - New life is coming to downtown Cape Girardeau.

Since being remodeled, the Esquire Theater has added three new storefronts: Pluck Boutique, House of CAYA and Hip Hop Dance Studios.

Main Street is adding new apartments to the old Broussard’s building.

Savannah Edwards from Old Town Cape, tells us what it’s like to have some new variety in the area.

“Downtown Cape is also experiencing a lot of different things to do now. There’s a hip hop studio open in the Esquire, so that’s exciting to bring some art and life in downtown Cape, as well as boutiques. We have a lot, but it’s always exciting to see some new variety and working together to make it a community thing for sure.”

All the stores mentioned are now open with more downtown improvements planned in the future.
