Southeast Mo. State reports more regional students for fall enrollment
CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - More high school graduates from Cape Girardeau County are choosing Southeast Missouri State University to continue their education.
That’s just one of the headlines from SEMO’s fall enrollment report.
Overall, the university reports the number of undergraduate students dipped 3 percent compared to 2024; however, officials say the number of students from high schools in Cape Girardeau County is up 4 percent.
According to the university, it saw a 10 percent bump when you account for students coming from the southeast Missouri region as a whole, but the number of international students going to SEMO this semester is down 63 percent.
University leaders say that’s part of a trend seen at other universities in the United States.
