Jackson man accused of stealing money from youth football league to spend on OnlyFans, court documents state

JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - A man is accused of stealing money from a youth football league.

Timothy Smith, 59, of Jackson, was arrested on a class C felony charge of stealing.

His bond was set at $10,000 cash only. As of Thursday afternoon, April 25, he was out on bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for Monday afternoon, April 29.

Smith, the former president and treasurer of the Jackson Area Youth Football Foundation, allegedly misused funds from the JAYF account.

Members of the foundation reported it to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office around April 15.

According to court documents, the alleged theft happened over a period of two years while Smith served as the president and treasurer of the league.

While auditing the account, according to the court documents, a member of the foundation discovered the JAYF account was being used to send money to a woman and some other people through Cash App. They also found transactions to the adult website OnlyFans, as well as being used at some restaurants.

Investigators say Smith confessed to using the JAYF account for personal use of more than $25,000 between April 2021 and June 1, 2023.

The Jackson Area Youth Football Foundation operates community youth football for grades K-6.
