CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - We first met Will and Wyatt, also known as, “Double Take,” in 2023.

They play in a band together and are releasing their debut album.

Will explained the experience, “We just kind of last year, we just got in the studio, first time ever. It was really cool, really cool experience. You know, and we just kind of decided, let’s just do this. And then, you know, here we are now.”

His brother Wyatt added, “We kind of split up a little on some songs and then on a lot of the other songs we mashed together, sat down, picked each other’s brains and wrote a little bit.”

The duo is a family gig, and when I asked what it’s like doing it all together Will told me, “You know, it’s actually kind of a cool story because my dad, he was up on stage singing when he was really little, and my papaw, who played in the Marvin Oster band out of Sikeston. And then my papa taught me how to play bass, and then I got to teach my dad how to play bass for us. You know, so it’s really cool. It’s all a really cool situation, you know, and they worked their tails off for me and Wyatt so that we can do what we love.”

Their new album comes out March 21, 2024.

If you want to see them in person they’ll be performing for their album release party on March 23 in Portageville at the St. Eustachius Parish Center at 7 p.m.

On March 25, the twins will perform their new song, “Levi Jean Queen,” on Heartland Afternoon at 3 p.m.
