1 dead in Murphysboro, IL crash
MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - A 25-year-old woman died in a car crash in Jackson County, Illinois on Thursday, February 26.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, at around 7:02 a.m., crews responded to a single-vehicle crash off of Town Creek Road west of Pond Ridge Road in rural Murphysboro, Ill.
Deputies say a black 1999 Pontiac Grand Am was going southbound on Town Creek Road south of Pond Ridge Road and left the road, hitting the end of a guardrail.
The car rolled over, ejecting the driver, and came to a rest at the edge of a creek.
The driver was identified as Nicole Ristow of Wolf Lake, Ill. She was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jackson County Coroner's Office.
Accident reconstruction officers from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene and are investigating the crash.
