Frost and freeze warnings in effect!
Good morning, Heartland! Be aware as you leave the house this morning and in the mornings to come, as conditions grow colder.
A cold front has moved through the Heartland, ushering in the coldest air we’ve seen all season. Frost and freeze warnings are in effect as temperatures drop significantly through the weekend. Partly sunny skies will dominate, with a few high clouds possible during the afternoon. Highs will reach the mid-to-upper 50s.
Sunday is when the coldest air arrives, with most areas waking up below freezing. Lows will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s, and frost will be widespread. However, sunny skies will bring a mild afternoon with highs climbing into the lower to mid-60s.
Temperatures trend above normal Monday through Wednesday with highs in the upper 60s and low 70s.
