DU QUOIN, Ill. (Heartland News) - Carson Brown saw the checkered flag first at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds on Sunday.

Brown won the ARCA Menard Series race, the Audubon Park 100, which fielded 24 cars on the mile-long dirt oval.

He led virtually the entire 100 miles, fending off competition early, and managed the lapped traffic well. Just ten of the 24 cars finished the race on the lead lap.

Brown was aided when his main competitor at that time, Max Reaves, spun out and hit the wall hard, ending his race. Reaves was attempting to become the first driver since 2009 to win both ARCA National Series dirt races in a single season after winning at the Springfield Mile earlier in the season.

Full race results can be viewed on ARCA’s website.
