Man to spend decades in prison after being given maximum sentence for raping dozens of women

COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX/Gray News) - A Kentucky man has been sentenced after being indicted in connection with the rape of dozens of women.

Paul Snow Jr., 44, was sentenced to 70 years in Kenton County Tuesday evening, the maximum in Kentucky, after numerous women testified in the case.

Prosecutors, the judge and the jury recorded their recommendation that Snow receive more than a 350-year sentence in the hope that the parole board considers the severity of his crimes.

“Multiple counties, multiple departments and some of the best in the business worked this for nearly three years. This is a big win, but we still have one more step to complete this for good,” the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

In April 2023, Gallatin County authorities arrested and charged Snow on 21 counts of rape, sodomy, kidnapping, strangulation, assault, terroristic threatening and handgun possession by a convicted felon.

After hearing about the investigation, several women in Kenton County, where Snow previously lived, came forward to report similar crimes.

Snow received 22 additional charges from a string of sexual assaults that happened in Kenton County between 2014 and 2017.

In Kenton County, Snow was charged with eight counts of sodomy, five counts of rape, five counts of wanton endangerment, two counts of human trafficking, one count of kidnapping and one count of possessing a handgun while a convicted felon.

According to court documents, Snow falsely told one victim he used to be a police officer and threatened to call 911 and report her for a DUI if she left.

The criminal complaint said he strangled several of his victims. One victim said she passed out and woke to Snow having sex with her.

Another victim said she was assaulted in front of her 1-year-old child when Snow was supposed to fix her iPhone. According to the report, the victim said she performed a sex act on Snow out of fear for her and her child’s safety.

A report from 2015 said he sodomized a woman after he put something in her drink and she lost consciousness. The report said Snow kept her from her phone and said he had taken hundreds of photos and videos of her that he would send out.

Following his sentencing in Kenton County, Snow will be sent for his pre-trial hearing May 29 in Gallatin County, where he was initially arrested.
