Inmate accused of stabbing lieutenant at Kentucky State Penitentiary

EDDYVILLE, Ky. (KFVS) - An investigation is underway after a stabbing at the Kentucky State Penitentiary.
According to the Kentucky State Police, detectives were called to the Kentucky State Penitentiary on Friday, April 2 just before 5 p.m. for a report of an inmate assaulting a lieutenant.
KSP said 57-year-old Sean Noakes of Florence, Ky., allegedly stabbed Lieutenant Zabulon Pierre with a sharp object. Lt. Pierre was taken to a hospital for minor injuries and released.
Noakes is currently incarcerated at the Kentucky State Penitentiary for a murder conviction from Boone County.
He has also been convicted of three additional felony assault charges for incidents that have happened while being incarcerated at the Kentucky State Penitentiary.
The investigation is ongoing and will be presented to the Lyon County Grand Jury.
