JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC/Gray News) - Two women have been indicted after a 5-year-old girl died of starvation and malnutrition last year, according to authorities.

Raven Rogers and Saliyah Ferguson are charged in connection with the death of Jaedah Robinson. Rogers is Jaedah’s mother.

The Jefferson County coroner ruled Jaedah’s death a homicide.

Rogers is charged with criminally negligent homicide. Ferguson is charged with felony murder.

Both indictments allege the women failed to ensure adequate nutrition, which led to Jaedah’s death.
