Driver dies from injuries after crash on I-57 in Jefferson County, Ill.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - A crash Saturday night in Jefferson County, Illinois, led to the death of one person.

According to the Ill. State Police, troopers responded to the crash on Interstate 57 near mile marker 89 by Mt. Vernon at around 9:40 p.m. on August 9.

Troopers found a vehicle overturned and the driver died from their injuries.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

Both southbound lanes were closed for some time, but reopened by around 11:30 p.m.
