Woman killed, man seriously injured after large tree falls on truck during severe weather, officials say
WATERLOO, Neb. (WOWT/Gray News) - A woman was killed and a man was seriously injured after a large tree fell on their truck in Nebraska during severe weather.
First-responders arrived at the scene just before 7 a.m. on Saturday.
The Waterloo Volunteer Fire Department confirmed that a woman, was killed after a Cottonwood tree fell on a truck at Two Rivers State Park. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other passenger, a man, was pinned in the vehicle, which had sustained extensive damage from the tree.
Extraction of the man was difficult due to the size and weight of the tree, taking approximately 90 minutes.
Once extracted, the man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The two had moved from their camping tent into their vehicle as the storm was coming in.
