Late-night police chase ends with arrest

A man was arrested after a late-night chase in McCracken County, Ky.

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A late-night police chase in McCracken County ends with the arrest of a 40-year-old man.

Ronald Hoyle is facing a long list of charges after deputies say he led them on a chase in the Farley area around 11 p.m. on Monday, July 28.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies tried to pull Hoyle over for reportedly driving his pickup truck recklessly, but he would not stop.

During the chase, deputies said Hoyle drove through yards to elude them and that multiple items fell out of his truck bed all over the roadway.

Deputies said they were able to stop Hoyle’s truck on Blandville Road by using a Precision Imobilization Technique (P.I.T. maneuver), but he took off running.

The sheriff’s office said deputies ran after Hoyle and took him into custody after a brief struggle.

He was taken to the McCracken County Jail and booked on the following charges:

  • Reckless driving
  • Speeding 26 mph or greater over the speed limit
  • Criminal littering
  • Fleeing or evading police 1st-degree, motor vehicle
  • Wanton endangerment 1st-degree
  • Wanton endangerment 1st-degree, police officer
  • Criminal mischief 1st degree
  • Fleeing or evading police 3rd-degree
  • Resisting arrest
  • Operating on suspended license
  • Operating motor vehicle under the influence
  • Disregarding traffic control device
  • Failure to produce insurance card
  • Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle
  • Escaping contents, shifting or spilling loads
