Two people charged with drug trafficking after undercover narcotics investigation
DEXTER, Mo. (KFVS) - Two people have been arrested in Stoddard County and have been charged with drug trafficking.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Tuesday, May 14, deputies assigned to the SEMO Drug Task Force were conducting an undercover narcotics investigation. During the investigation, deputies received information that 34-year-old Milton Taylor Jr. of Poplar Bluff was on his way to sell Fentanyl in the Dexter area.
Deputies along with the Dexter Police Officer Dylan Williams and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, located Taylor near the Harps grocery store in Dexter. Taylor also had a passenger in the vehicle later identified as 19-year-old Liberty Lambert of Naylor, Missouri.
Deputies contacted the subjects in the parking lot which later revealed they were in possession of several items of drug paraphernalia and about 34 capsules, which contained suspected Fentanyl.
The white powdery substance contained in the capsules was field tested utilizing the TruNarc and produced positive results of the presence of Fentanyl.
Taylor and Lambert were both arrested and transported to the Stoddard County Jail where they are currently housed on No Bond warrants. Both were charged with first-degree drug trafficking and possession of an imitation controlled substance.
