CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Live music is coming to a Cape Girardeau venue on March 1, all the way from Memphis, Tennessee.

Southern Avenue is a self-described soul/blues/southern rock band.

People can get tickets to see them perform at Scout Hall in downtown Cape at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Group members Tierinii, Tikyra, and Ava Jackson, along with Ori Naftaly, gave an early performance for Heartland Afternoon of their song, “So Much Love.”

Band members said the inspiration for the song comes from spending time away from home on the road, and finding comfort in familiar items like a favorite robe, or coffee.

The group were nominated for a Grammy in 2020 for “Best Contemporary Blues album.”

Currently, the members said they’re taking a break from working on a new album to play several shows, including the Scout Hall performance.

On March 2, Southern Avenue will perform in Nashville with Eric Gales.

In September, they’ll go on tour with Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, and John Mellencamp as part of Outlaw Music Festival 2024.

That tour makes a stop at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis, Mo. on September 8.
