Lucchesi named Baseball America Third Team All-American

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Southeast Redhawks pitcher, Joey Lucchesi, adds another All-American honor by being named Third Team All-American from Baseball America.

The senior from Newark, California, finished this season with a 10-5 record, a 2.19 ERA, and 149 strikeouts which leads the country and is the new single-season mark for Southeast and the OVC.

He finished this year with a 12.08 strikeouts per nine innings mark and his 242 career strikeouts broke the Southeast career record.

Lucchesi's long list of honors this year also include Louisville Slugger First Team All-American, OVC Pitcher of the Year, First Team All-OVC, OVC All-Tournament Team, and OVC Tournament MVP.
