Royalton woman arrested for pointing gun during cornhole tournament

ZEIGLER, IL (KFVS) -

A woman was arrested Saturday after pointing a gun at several people during a cornhole tournament in Zeigler, Illinois.

Jennifer Lynn Wright of Royalton, Ill. was arrested for the unlawful use of a weapon and 4 counts of aggravated assault and was taken to the Franklin County Jail, according to deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.

Wright allegedly pointed a gun and threatened four people during the Zeigler “Blues and Bags” tournament, according to Zeigler Police Chief Ben Burkhamer.

Burkhamer said the hangun was not chambered but the magazine was loaded. 

Burkhamer could not comment further because the investigation is ongoing.
