Swift's home.What happened to Karen Swift? It's a question on the mind's of families in the community of Dyer County. The 44 year old mother of four was last seen Sunday morning around 1:30 a.m. at her home.
In spite of grueling searches, few clues have emerged.
Authorities found her 2004 Murano on the side of the road near Harness and Millsfield Highway just about a quarter mile from her home. The SUV had a flat tire. Still, there's no sign of Swift.
"This is just bizarre and crazy so close to where I live," said Marty Lamb. Lamb lives next door to the Swift family. He says the swifts have two older boys and two young girls who loved to play with his kids.
"I saw her car on the side of the road," said Lamb. "I was on my way to work Sunday around 5:30 a.m. I checked it out, I looked inside. I noticed it had a flat. I just thought she probably walked home it's so close. This really scares me that this happened so close to my house when I have a wife and kids to take care of."
Lamb says the families looked out for each other, and he always trusted Karen with his children.
"She would pick them up from school. She was good to her kids. I would not have a problem with her taking my kids anywhere," said Lamb.
Meanwhile Wednesday authorities used every resources from search dogs, to horses, to helicopters to search the Dyer County area.
"We didn't find anything remarkable," said Sheriff Jeff Box.
Sheriff Box says they've asked Swift's cell phone company to give them detailed records so that they can try and find out exactly where she was and who she might have talked to between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
"Hopefully that will give us some leads," said Sheriff Box.
Sheriff Box says they know Swift was at a party Saturday night, but left early to get her sick daughter.
Sheriff Box says they are told Swift and her daughter went to bed together, but the little girl woke up in another room and no one has seen mom since.
"We don't have any evidence that would actually state that there is foul play but we don't have any evidence to state there's not either,' said Sheriff Box.
Meanwhile, Swift's SUV is now at a crime lab in Nashville where it is being processed for clues.
