Two arrested after Metropolis Police find meth, drug materials

METROPOLIS, IL (KFVS) -

Metropolis Police arrested two people after finding meth and meth making materials.

Jennifer Lemasters, 25, of Metropolis was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

James E. Cline, 25, was sough on a local warrant for failure to appear-petition for revocation of probation on an original charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

Metropolis Police and the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force received  tips of alleged methamphetamine activity at a home in the 200 block of Filmore Street.

Police found more than 2,300 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine stored in plastic Gatorade, PowerAde and mason jars.

Authorities also seized coffee filters, empty blister packs, aluminum foil with meth residue and other items commonly used in the manufacture of methamphetamine.

The resident of the home was not at home when the search was conducted.  Police plan to file methamphetamine manufacturing charges against him.

The Illinois State Police Methamphetamine Response Team conducted recovery and cleanup operations.

Lemasters and Cline were taken to the Massac County Detention Center.

    A fundraiser is in effect in Southern Illinois between Shawnee Tactical Solutions and the Stop the Bleeding Coalition to put specialized trauma kits in the hands of police departments.
