Cooler and less humid air is finally beginning to blow in from the northwest this evening. A few lingering showers and thunderstorms may develop in IL, KY and TN until about sunset but skies will clearing and temps dropping overnight. By Monday morning it should be mainly clear and refreshingly cooler, with daybreak lows in the low 50s to around 60. Monday will give us a nice but brief break in the heat and storms….with highs mainly in the 70s and noticeably lower dew points. By Tuesday warmer air and the threat of active weather will be returning.
