Ag Day Honors Farmers

(Albia, Iowa) It's National Agriculture Week. That means people who make a living off the land are getting the appreciation they deserve. That is especially true in one Southeast Iowa Community. In Monroe County, Iowa farmers have been honored each year for the past two decades through an event called Monroe County Ag Day. Ag Day Organizer, Doris Mellick says, "It brings awareness of agriculture how important it is to city folks don't really think of farming as an occupation." Several farmers and businesses were honored at the hall of fame luncheon this afternoon.
