JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. - A judge handed down a sentence for juveniles accused of starting a fire in July that destroyed a local post office and business next door in Vergennes.
Two kids pleaded guilty and the other two were found guilty Tuesday afternoon at the Jackson County Courthouse.  The kids range in age from 11 to 13.
All four must be placed under court supervision for the next 12 months, submit to random drug and alcohol testing, cannot posses any firearms or explosives, and must do 75 hours of public service.
The parents of the children could face consequences as well.  Under the Responsible Parent Act, the insurance companies for each of the two buildings that burned could sue the parents of each child for up to $20,000 for each child.
