COBDEN, Ill. - Cobden celebrates the community's Sesquicentennial and Peach Festival.
It's a weekend-long celebration 150 years in the making.
"It's really amazing that Cobden has revered its history as it has," said Pat Maller, of the Union County Museum. "Cobden is a very cultured community."
Much of that culture is on display at the Union County Museum. Pat Maller said the whole community is part of the celebration.
Store fronts are all decked out for the celebration. Historic homes are noted with signs.
And, of course the 70th Peach Festival is a big part of the celebration.
Thanks to Mother Nature, there are no home grown peaches this year. But, plenty were brought in for the party.
