CRITTENDEN, Ky. (AP) - A public boat ramp in Kentucky is closing next month while a new ramp and parking lot are built.

A Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife release says the ramp at Bullock Pen Lake in Grant County is being relocated. It says it's being moved to a nearby cove to provide a better launching site for boaters. The ramp is closing Sept. 10, and the project is expected to be finished by spring.

The existing ramp won't be available because dirt from the new road grade will block it. Bank anglers will be able to use the lower end of the existing ramp.

Boaters will be able to park in the lot and use the new ramp free of charge. There's a fee to park at the existing ramp.
