JACKSON, MO (KFVS) - All summer long crews worked to put the finishing touches on several construction projects.

Some of them include - a new addition to Jackson Middle School.

In North Elementary - a new secure entry was put in. Also in that school, new hallways and a new playground area were installed.

One of the noticeable additions the freshman center. The superintendent said they took some time to look at their buildings and the capacities of those structures and saw that if they made some changes here and there - they could get smaller classes in some areas.

Smaller class sizes can equal big results for the student. That's because teachers can spend more time with the kids in a smaller classroom. Members of the community will be able to tour the new construction on Sunday, Aug. 26.

The open houses will begin at 2 .pm. at Jackson High School, 3 pm for Jackson Middle School and 4 pm for North Elementary.

Tours will be given at each building and a ribbon cutting will take place in conjunction with the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce.
