CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Officers were on the scene of a three-vehicle, deadly crash in southern Cape Girardeau County, Missouri on Sunday, August 19.

According to Sgt. Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, it happened on Highway 25 near the Stoddard County line sometime around 8:30 a.m.

Joshua Whitehead, 25, of Puxico, Missouri, was driving northbound on Highway 25 when troopers say he crossed the center line and sideswiped a vehicle driven by William Coomer, 68, of Delta, Mo.

According to officers, Whitehead also hit a vehicle driven by Brittiny Coleman, 26, of Bloomfield, Mo.

Whitehead was taken to taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to the highway patrol, Coleman and her passenger had "moderate injuries" and Coomer and his passenger had "minor injuries."

A number of different fire departments were also called to the scene.
