PEMISCOT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - According to Sheriff Tommy Greenwell in Pemiscot County, Missouri, there is a death investigation after a 30-year-old inmate from East Prairie, Mo. was found unresponsive at 11:51 p.m. Friday, August 17. He was being held for New Madrid County authorities.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Crime Control is investigating at the request of the sheriff.
An autopsy took place in Farmington, Missouri at 1 p.m. on August 18. The sheriff said the autopsy showed no trauma, and they are waiting for the toxicology report before cause of death can be determined.
The coroner told Heartland News the death is not considered suspicious at this time.
