Poplar Bluff police seeing increase in Heroin, Fentanyl overdoses
POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - The Poplar Bluff Police Department has seen a recent increase in overdose deaths due to suspected Heroin and Fentanyl, according to Police Chief Danny Whiteley.
Recently, a "bad batch" of Heroin and/or Fentanyl is currently being distributed in the area according to the chief.
The increase in abuse has occurred over the past two years.
Whitely said in a statement:
To those who suffer from a Heroin addiction, we would suggest seeking treatment for your addiction, before you too become a statistic. If you are found to possess or distribute Heroin, Fentanyl or any paraphernalia associated with its use, you will be arrested. Any person who chooses to prey on the weak, will be dealt with accordingly.
