KENNETT, MO (KFVS) - Crews responded to a structure fire in Kennett, Missouri on Wednesday, August 15.
According to Kennett Police Department, the fire was in the 1100 block of Independence Ave. at a warehouse behind Bullock Furniture.
The call came in around 11:21 a.m. The Hayti Fire Department was called in for mutual aid.
The warehouse is where Bullock Furniture stores all of their inventory, as in furniture and mattresses.
Update from Kennett Fire Chief John Mallot, there is no determination on what started the fire. The fire has been put out and the building is a total loss.
Workers at a transmission shop nearby noticed the fire.
The building is a pole barn type building with a tin roof and when the roof collapsed, it makes it hard to extinguish the fire. They brought in a front loader to help out.
A delivery truck was also damaged.
They are waiting on insurance adjusters to assess the total damage.
The state fire marshal will not be called in as it is not deemed suspicious at this time.
There were no injuries.
Because of the heat, they were having to rotate crews in and out. No injuries were reported.
