Murray State University recently launched a new website for prospective students to provide comprehensive information about the 126 academic programs the University offers.
The new site, which can be accessed at murraystate.edu/programs, features a dynamic search engine that allows students to explore academic programs based on careers and areas of interest.
The site includes both undergraduate and graduate offerings with consistent information across all programs about curriculum details, class sizes, club and internship opportunities, possible careers and related programs.
It is optimized for mobile devices in addition to being written and designed according to web best practices.
"Choosing what to study can be stressful, but we hope this resource eases what for many is a life-defining decision," said Daniel Fukuhara, web specialist, who led the creation and design of the project. "We wanted to provide prospective and current students with a resource that allows them to easily find and research academic programs the University offers."
In addition to offering students interested in Murray State an opportunity to learn more about possible fields of study, the new programs site can be utilized as a tool for high school teachers and guidance counselors as they introduce their students to potential majors and career paths.
Students can also begin their Murray State journey straight from the website with options to apply, to schedule a visit and to request more information.
The new site will be updated on a semi-annual basis as the University continues to develop new program offerings.
