CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Heartland Sports learned that Southeast Missouri will name former Lindenwood gymnastics assistant coach their new head coach.
Former Redhawks coach and gymnast Ashley Lawson will be taking over the program for the 2019 season.
Lawson served as SEMO assistant coach and main balance beam coach that helped coach three gymnasts to qualify for the 2010 NCAA Regionals.
She was a Redhawks gymnast from 2001-2004. She holds four school records.
Lawson was named the team's Most Valuable Gymnast all four years at SEMO. She was also named Southeast Missouri State University Female Athlete of the Year in 2004.
