PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Detroit, Michigan man was arrested after an officer found him searching through a vehicle on Washington Street early Wednesday, August 8.

Police were called to a report of a suspicious person going through vehicles near W.B. Sanders Retirement Center, 820 Washington St. Officer Jordan Murphy found Rondell Williams, 44, looking in the back of a parked vehicle, and rear hatch had been raised.

When Williams saw Murphy, he fled and was caught and taken into custody about a block away.

Williams was charged with fleeing from police and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail. The investigation is continuing.
