PERRYVILLE, MO (KFVS) - A Perryville woman was arrested for stealing a vehicle on Monday, Aug. 6.
25-year-old Mary Lynn Medvik is facing multiple charges after stealing a vehicle from the Perry Park Center.
According to the probable cause statement from the Perryville Police Department, the vehicle was taken along with credit cards and a cell phone. Police sent out a NIXLE alert and approximately 6 minutes later, the vehicle was spotted in the parking lot of Walmart in Perryville.
Perryville Police and Perry County Sheriff's Department responded to the Walmart.
The vehicle matched the missing vehicle description and then officers entered Walmart and located the female that matched the description trying to purchase merchandise at the checkout line.
Medvik was found with a small purse in the cart that she claimed was hers. Police found credit cards and a key fob inside.
She admitted to taking the key fob from the park center and driving the car to Walmart.
The vehicle was undamaged.
Medvik was arrested on a Perry County warrant, along with the first-degree felony charge of Tampering With Motor Vehicle, 4 counts of Stealing, Attempted Fraudulent Use Of A Credit/Debit Device and Operate Vehicle On Highway Without A Valid License.
