KSP found death of Fulton Co., KY inmate 'not suspicious'

FULTON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - The Kentucky State Police Post 1 finished their death investigation after an inmate died at the Fulton County Detention Center.

KSP Post 1 received a call at approximately 2:10 p.m. on August 3.

A preliminary investigation shows, inmate Tommy W. Prather, 56, of Mayfield, Ky, started having chest pains in his cell.

The autopsy report shows that Prather's cause of death was a heart attack.

No foul play is suspected.

Staff from the jail responded and took Prather to a medical center where he became unresponsive and CPR was given.

EMS arrived on scene and transported Prather to a hospital in Union City, Tennessee where he was pronounced dead.
