CARLISLE COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A landowner in Carlisle County, Kentucky is facing a drug charge after deputies say their drone spotted at least one marijuana plant growing in Arlington.
According to the Carlisle County Sheriff's Department's Facebook page, a deputy and a spotter were conducting an Aerial Drone Drug Interdiction Operations in and around Arlington on Thursday, August 2 during daylight hours.
After flying the drone, the crew reviewed the images recorded during the flight and informed the sheriff they found what appeared to be marijuana growing on a property northeast of 4th St. in Arlington.
The sheriff and deputies then responded to the property and received permission from the landowner to search the area. During the search, the sheriff says they found at least one marijuana plant.
The landowner was charged with cultivation of marijuana less than five plants.
The sheriff says the investigation is ongoing.
