PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) - A Paducah, Kentucky woman was arrested around midnight on Tuesday, July 31 on drug charges according to McCracken County deputies.
Monica F. Adams was charged with DUI, first offense, possession of a controlled substance, first-degree, first-offense (methamphetamine), possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, buy/possess.
Deputies said they were conducting an investigation in Reidland, which led them to make contact with a 2012 Ford Focus passenger car in the parking lot of a business on Benton Road.
Adams, 37, of Paducah, was identified as the driver. Deputies detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and Adams produced the suspected marijuana to the deputies.
Adams told them they would find items of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, deputies located additional marijuana, assorted items of drug paraphernalia, and suspected methamphetamine.
It was also determined Adams was operating the vehicle under the influence of illicit drugs.
Adams was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail, where she was lodged.
