Police: Missing man's death believed to be homicide in Doniphan, MO

DONIPHAN, MO (KFVS) - A missing person report made on Sunday, July 15 has been ruled a homicide by the Doniphan Police Department.

Bruce T. Ehrenberg was reported as missing person to the police and during the initial portion of the investigation, information was gained that led investigators to believe Ehrenberg was murdered.

Police said on Wednesday, July 18 the Current River Major Case Squad was activated.

Following numerous interviews, investigative leads were followed up on according to police.

On Friday, July 20 Ehrenburg's body was located in rural Ripley County, Missouri. A suspect in his death is currently being held in the Butler County Justice Center on unrelated charges.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, July 23 in the afternoon. We will have more information at that time. When the autopsy is completed formal charges will be requested in this investigation.

Agencies involved in this investigation were the Doniphan Police Department, Ripley County Sheriff's Office, Ripley County Coroner, Oregon County Sheriff's Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
