Hayti, MO man steals nearly $70,000 in scrap aluminum

HAYTI, MO (KFVS) - Hayti Police officers responded to an aluminum manufacturing plant on July 20 at 9:50 a.m.

According to Police Chief Paul Sheckell, the company told police that an employee was stealing scrap aluminum. Police opened an investigation and found that Martin Culver, 45, of Hayti, Mo. had been stealing scrap aluminum since Jan. 2017.

Culver had stolen over $69,000 in scrap aluminum and sold it to an area recycling center.

Pemiscot County Prosecutor Jereme Lytle charged Culver with Stealing (Class C) Felony and was taken to the Pemiscot County Justice Center on a $15,000 cash-only bond.
