UNION CITY, TN (KFVS) - Dozens of people gathered at the Union City, Tennessee Baptist Temple church for a reopening service after a fire destroyed it back in 2016.

The new temple was dedicated this morning and a ribbon cutting was held in the afternoon.

Since the fire church services were held in the gym.

Members say today was all about moving forward.

"Now it's a new beginning. Now we can go forward. We've got a brand new building. We've got a brand new attitude. God has smiled on us and we are going forward," said member Sue Priest.

Luckily, nobody was hurt in the 2016 fire.
