Deputies: Child found near road as parents slept in Graves Co.

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - Deputies arrested a 3-year-old's parents after the toddler was found playing the road unsupervised on Saturday, July 14.

According to Graves County Sheriff Jason Harpole, deputies responded to a call about an endangered child at 11 a.m.

The caller said a 3-year-old child was playing near the road on US 45 South. The caller stopped and some other people helped the child locate its parent(s).

The parents, Diane People and Richard Crider were asleep and unaware of what was going on.

They were arrested on first-degree wanton endangerment charges.

People and Crider were transported to the Graves County Jail and the child was released to a family member.
