Man wanted for recent Randolph County vehicle thefts

RANDOLPH COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Chester Police Department and Randolph County Sheriff's Office are investigating vehicle thefts in Chester and Randolph County in the most recent weeks.

Police are looking and have issued an arrest warrant for Herbert Michael Dyke, 51, of Steeleville, in connection with these vehicle thefts.

Dyke is wanted on two counts of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and one count of theft over $10,000.

On Monday, July 9, police located who they believed to be Dyke near the Randolph and Perry County line in possession of a stolen Chevrolet Traverse that was stolen on July 2.

Randolph County Sheriff's Deputies tried to stop Dyke but he fled and abandoned the vehicle on a field road in rural Perry County.

The vehicle was recovered.

A grey Ford F-250 flatbed truck was reported stolen from a home in rural Perry County.

Local authorities are asking for help in locating Dyke. If anyone has any information on his whereabouts, please contact the local police department. Please do not approach him.
