Samburskys' to receive MVC Most Courageous Award

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Joel and Samantha Sambursky have been selected as recipients of the Missouri Valley Conference's Most Courageous Award, according to SIU.
They will be recognized during the Saluki football game versus SEMO on Sept. 15.

The Sambursky's one-year-old son, Theodore, was born prematurely on April 13, 2017, with a heart arrhythmia and continues to face health issues. They traveled to his bedside throughout the summer of 2017.
Their courage inspired a public-awareness campaign called "Tough Like Teddy."
Joel Sambursky is a former Saluki quarterback and his wife played for the golf team.
