Department officials said the results will be sent to participants after about two months. The project is expected to end around January 2019.

Officials with the Jackson County Health Department are participating in a research project with researchers from the University of Illinois and Northern Illinois University. The project aims to better determine the presence of lead in private water wells in three Illinois counties.
