CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Southern Illinois University President Randy Dunn released a statement on Friday, July 6 about his recent controversial emails regarding funding at the university's Carbondale and Edwardsville campuses.
Dunn said, in part, the funding allocation issues have been going on for years, are complex and have no easy fixes.
He said he suggested money be shifted to Edwardsville because enrollment there is growing.
He went on to say he would support more funding for Carbondale if needed.
"Everything we do needs to be with our students in mind," he said. "Those current and those future."
