Woman hit, killed by truck while walking in Williamson Co., IL

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - A woman died after she was hit by a truck while walking along Route 166 in Williamson County, Illinois on Thursday, July 5.

Officials were called to the scene along Route 166 near Creal Springs shortly before 9 p.m.

According to the Williamson County Coroner's Office, 20-year-old Amber Dawn Agin of New Burnside was walking northbound on Route 166 approximately south of Creal Springs when she was hit and killed by a northbound pickup truck.

It is unclear at this point to why she was walking along Route 166 at night.

An autopsy was performed on Friday, July 6 and the results are pending.

This incident remains under investigation by the Willaimson County Coroner's Office and the Willaimson County Sheriff's Office.
